My Favorite Christmas Present

For me, this Christmas was extra special. Yes, I received some delightful gadgets, delicious chocolate and some other stuff but all of those paled in comparison to the gift from my little nephew, Roy.

You see, little Roy is almost three but due to some speech difficulties, has not been able to utter a single word so far. But when I was visiting this Christmas, he finally spoke his first word to me - “car” (a hint perhaps for a future Christmas present). I admit I was overwhelmed. You don’t often see a grown man reduced to tears but that was what happened. To me, that was more valuable than any material gift that I had received this Christmas.

I do hope that that is the first of many words for little Roy and if that means dangling the carrot of a Cheverolet in front of him, I may just do so =)
